Here Are Just A Handful Of Things You’ll Learn:
Men, traditionally, have been the primary manager of family finances, but women are getting more involved every year. Whether it’s because they are the highest earner or they are better with money, the dynamics continue to change.
The important thing to know is that all women will likely have to be in charge of their finances and retirement plan at some point. Statistics show that women are living an average of five years longer than their spouse, which means all the responsibilities fall onto one person. That can be very overwhelming if you aren’t prepared.
Matt Hausman started thinking about this topic quite a bit as he prepared to speak at an upcoming event. It made him think about personal and professional experiences in his life where women had to step in and take control. He decided to make that the focus of this episode of Smart Money Questions so he’ll share those stories and identify the areas that are most important when planning.
We’ll begin the episode with a question about real estate. The listener asks about property taxes and how that might affect his decision to sell and re-invest elsewhere. Matt will walk him through some options and point out the questions that need to be answered to make the right choice.
