Here Are Just A Handful Of Things You’ll Learn:
Today on Smart Money Questions we’re tackling two important topics – Maggie’s cancer journey and what you need to know about Medicare.
First, we are celebrating a five-year milestone. Maggie was diagnosed with acute leukemia on Oct. 13, 2015. Our clients are always asking about her, and we wanted to let you know she has reached the five-year milestone and is doing great.
Next, we have been getting a lot of questions about Medicare. It’s a complex topic, and we recommend you get an advisor to help you sort through the details. We spoke with a woman who is turning 65 next year and will be eligible for Medicare. Her husband is 62 and was forced into an early retirement. We’ll take you through our discussion with her.
It’s important to know the basics about traditional Medicare and how it works. There is Part A, which covers hospitalization and is free. Part B covers service providers, and you pay a premium. Some parts are supplemental and you pay insurance providers.
Part D covers drugs, and you can go to Medicare.gov and enter your scripts, dosage and how often you take the medication and get a plan and price.
One important piece is knowing when to apply for Medicare. We’ll explain when to get it and what you need to know. We’ll also answer listener questions about whether to give inheritance money to your children and if 401K income estimates are accurate.
